Financial Assistance Organizations
The following is a list of organizations that offer financial help—either through grants or low-interest loans—to assist adoptive families. The aid extended to a family can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars.
Each organization has specific requirements and guidelines for when you can apply for assistance, so you will need to read their information carefully. We suggest that you submit your application(s) as early in your adoption process as possible.
We also suggest that you keep careful records of your applications, including the dates you submit your applications and when you expect to hear from the organization. If you do not get a response at the expected time, contact them. Save copies of your applications, too; your completed applications will make filling out other applications easier.
Above all, remember that God is in control. He might choose to provide for your adoption through one or more grants. He might provide you with a low-interest loan. Or He might use other means. Don’t give up. If God calls you to adopt, don’t let financial uncertainty stop you from taking the first step to follow that call.
