Are you considering adoption? If so, then you are likely trying to answer a number of questions, such as:
- What countries can I adopt from?
- How much does adoption cost?
- How can I afford to adopt?
- Do I have to walk this road alone, or is there a way for others to help (both during and after the adoption process)?
We have compiled some resources to help answer these questions. Keep reading, and follow the links below to learn more.
Adoption Requirements by Country
The waiting children listed on our website are from different countries around the world. Each country has its own set of requirements that adoptive families must meet, which you can look up on the U. S. Department of State’s website. But, to make things easier, we have distilled the requirements of the countries represented by the children we’re advocating for. Take a minute to read through this overview as you begin your adoption journey.
Financial Assistance
Adopting is expensive, and we know that many families do not have the resources on their own to fund an adoption. In light of that, we offer two ways to help adoptive families:
- For every waiting child adopted by a TSC family, we set up a fund where people can donate.
- We maintain a list of organizations that offer grants or low-interest loans to adopting families, and we update this list regularly.
Homefront Mobilization
One of the hardest questions to answer as a new adoptive parent is, “How can we help?” You don’t want to turn away an offer for help, but you also want to protect and nurture the bond you have just begun to form with your new child. We have a list of ideas and suggestions for how one’s friends, family, and church can come along for the adoption journey.
